TALK: The Ground Below Zero: How to Create Utopia from Catastrophe
Journalist and professor, Nicholas Powers has reported from genocides and disasters to utopian events like Burning Man and Occupy Wall Street. The talk will map the place of Burner culture in the larger context of world politics and economy. It will place questions of ideology, consciousness and transformation at the forefront. Ultimately, we will try to create a vision for building out of the Age of Austerity a post-capitalist utopia.
