Planetary Collapse, Planetary Initiation: How We Co-create Change with Daniel Pinchbeck and Jim Clark

In this panel, 2 futurists from different backgrounds will take questions regarding where civilization and our species is heading. Topics covered will include: Will we make it as a species? Predictions regarding the future of nations, religions, economics, and culture. What is the likelihood for various collapse/ catastrophe predictions? Will things go in the technological singularity direction, or a more earth based/ organic direction? What’s the role of the Burning Man community in helping shape the future?

Daniel Pinchbeck is the author of Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism and 2012: He is featured in the documentary 2012: Time for Change. His essays have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, Esquire and many other publications.

Jim Clark is founder of the World Technology Network (, a curated global community of over 1,000 of the peer-elected most innovative people in science and technology, vetted via the World Technology Awards, and presented in association with TIME magazine, Fortune, and CNN, at the conclusion of the annual World Technology Summit. Educated at Wesleyan U. (USA) and Cambridge U., Clark has served in leadership roles across politics, tech, academia, and the nonprofit sector.  Clark has appeared on BBC, CNN, CNBC, and gives frequent public speeches. His most recent talk – “Manifesto for a New Civilization” – is a global call to action with a framework on how to make a better one.
